Unlike other radishes, the black radish has a peppery taste that is very unique. Black radishes are so easy to grow and even easier to prepare.
- 2 large black radishes (peeled)
- Olive oil
- Balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
Preheat the oven to 425° F.
Grease a large rimmed baking pan.
Wash and scrub the radishes thoroughly. Peel the radishes with a vegetable peeler or sharp knife. Slice the radishes thinly; chip-like. A mandolin makes it easier!
Toss them in a bowl with a little olive oil and vinegar, salt, pepper and red pepper flakes. Toss with a wooden spoon until the radishes are coated evenly but not drenched.
Spread the radishes on the baking pan and bake for about 20 minutes.
Remove from oven when they are golden and the edges start to crisp. Sprinkle with a bit more salt and pepper if desired. Enjoy!
